Fiona Ellis visits Kniterary

Saturday was a fabulous day to be at Kniterary!

The fabulous Fiona Ellis came by to teach us how to Twist with the Cable Girl. Everyone had a wonderful time as well as learning alot about cabling.

Seen here with Fiona are Lisa, Diane and Barb.

This is a view into our newly decorated classroom. It is so lovely and bright with its warm yellow walls and brand new carpet. Fifteen people were in the class and there was lots of room for every one.

Fiona always lends a helping hand to troubled knitters! Here Miranda copes with cabling. Later on Miranda did a happy little cable dance for me! She was so excited to learn how to do it!

Everyone got to see Fiona's cable sweaters first hand. Some were even tried on.

Michelle shows off her work with Fiona. Michelle was slacking here I think because she already has one pattern published in Magknits.

A simple pair of fingerless gloves called Evangaline!
Fiona has agreed to come back to teach again in September or October so keep your eyes open for details!

P.S.

The talented Michelle is teaching a lace scarf class starting this Friday! Check classes at the Kniterary web site for more information!

HedgeHog Alert!

Vickie is getting the Hedgehog Stitchery ready quickly!

You can come in anytime Kniterary is open and go up the stairs to have a look at the type of items the stitchery will be carrying.

Shipments should start arriving this week so by next week there may be some cross stitching supplies ready to buy!

The Grand Opening of Hedgehog Stitchery is May 10th. Along with the grand opening Kniterary will be celebrating its 2nd Anniversary!! It is the 1st Anniversary for me but the 2nd for the shop!

For both shops at 229 Brock St. North in Whitby there will be sale prices, refreshments, grab bags and a draw. There will also be some visiting designers and teachers to give demos and information. So mark the date on your calendar!

Today at Kniterary

Today I put the blue Easter Basket on display and knit up another basket for felting with a daffodil. Both patterns will be available with the class this Saturday.

Then Miranda popped in to show off her first completed project since joining the Kniterary Friends (also known (to me) as Kniterarians). It is a good hat that can stand on its own!!

Great job Miranda!!!

Then her daughter came to get her and claimed the hat!!

Such a sweetie!! (And a future knitter)

What with all the snow the store was fairly slow but as you can see I had a good day despite having to shovel and shake my fist at the sky.

Hope to see you all Thursday night for Sit N' Knit!!!

Felted Easter Basket

On Saturday March 8th from 1 to 4 PM I am running a workshop to make a Felted Easter Basket.

The flower is optional. This one I crocheted out of Noro Silk Garden. I will have a few flower patterns available too if you want to adorn your basket.

Call Kniterary (905)668-8368 if you would like to join the workshop!

Green Cables

Fioa Ellis is coming to visit Kniterary on March 26th. To prepare for the Cable Girl I have started a Cable Afghan Knit-a-Long that starts with this Rose Garden Cable block. All blocks will be done in Mission Falls 1824 Wool.
And I Am working on Fiona's Practice Makes Perfect Scarf in Silk Flamme.

Fiona's class is full but I am taking names for a waiting list.
